eBay vs. etsy...it's my 9 yr Anniversary with eBay...

I got an email from eBay today, wishing me a happy 9 year anniversary as a member of the eBay community. Wow...can't believe it's been that long! Over the years I've bought some great things and sold a few things, too. The last time I listed items for sale, I kinda felt like the magic just isn't there anymore. I dunno...I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the economy, but converse to that, I have been selling things here and there on etsy and feel like it's a nicer venue. I find etsy easier to maneuver, easier to find things and even just nicer to look at! Of course etsy does not offer the wild card that an eBay auction can offer, but I'd rather take sales of any kind over sales of no kind. Hmmm...maybe I shouldn't give up all hope and try to take advantage of holiday shoppers! I think we've got about 50 days left before Christmas! Birdcages!!!

A friend of mine shared the link to an ebay auction last week. The link was for the most amazing pair of shoes I have ever seen! Glamorous vintage peeptoe pumps, but with a little something special in the heel. ...well, actually, not just in the heel, but the entire heel itself! Designed to look like a birdcage, these heels actually have a little bird inside too! I caught the auction midway through. They'd been bid up to about $250 and had yet to reach the reserve price. In the end, they sold for a whopping $482.99!!! Unbelievable! But then again, in all my years in vintage, I have never seen another pair of shoes like these! Definitely a collectors item and worthy of ending up in a museum or on the lucky winners feet!

Scores of the DAY!!!

I was downtown today taking care of some business...ended up parking just across the street from one of our local thrift stores, so I decided to see what kind of treasures might be hiding in there for me to find! Here's a few pics of some of the cool swag I brought home with me! Some you will see in my eBay shop soon, while most of this stuff will more than likely stay here with me. :) I'm a sucker for cool vintage stuff!
