Thanks to this morning's Daily Candy email, I now know about "Photobooth" http://www.photoboothsf.com/Photobooth_SF.html
This really looks neat! I love that not everyone is so taken with modern technology and that with the advent of greater and greater availability of that technology, that there are those who continue to look back at the origins and history of our modern conveniences. Vince Donovan and Michael Shindler, local San Francisco photographers are opening up a photo studio where you can go and have your portrait taken and then printed either on Polaroid or Tin Type...yes, I did say Tin Type! That old Civil War era photographic process where images were exposed onto chemically treated sheets of tin. I am not sure what the cost is of this, but I think it would be worth whatever they charge (as long as it doesn't include an arm and a leg!) to have such a unique souvenir.
Photobooth, 1193 Valencia Street, at 23rd Street (415-824-1248 or photoboothsf.com). Grand opening party, Saturday, 6-9:30 p.m.; R.S.V.P. to rsvp@photoboothsf.com
