Enamelling is FUN!!!!

This weekend was full of busy-ness. I stayed up until 2am Saturday night wrapping gifts and woke up Sunday to wrap even more! I'll share pics of the packages in a later post, as I am quite proud of the end result. :) But, back to business...I joined an enamelling workshop this evening at Gravel & Gold in San Francisco's Mission District. I've posted about this several other times, but I am now on the other side of the anticipation and returned home with enameled pendants in hand! It was soooo cool to learn the basics and to see how many possibilities there are with this! Here are the 2, two-sided pendants that I made.


If you have an interest in enamel and ever get a chance to do this, I'd highly recommend it!

Cool Fun on a Sunday afternoon in SF!

Sunday, December 19th has a lot to offer the handmade connoisseur! Renegade Craft Fair makes it's second ever Holiday visit to San Francisco this weekend. I'm hoping to stop by to see about finding a few last minute gifts, before heading over to Gravel & Gold ( gravelandgold.com ) in the Mission to take part in the Enamel Wow II workshop, taught by Raissa Bump! I think Sunday afternoon will be a very enjoyable one indeed!

Enamelling Workshop at Gravel & Gold!!!

I'm sooooo excited! I am on the email list for a super cute shop/boutique in San Francisco's Mission district called Gravel & Gold. Last week, they announced an upcoming Enamelling Workshop; I inquired, but was too late to join in the quickly filled event. However, much to my surprise, a few days after my initial inquiry, I was offered the opportunity to take a spot that had been vacated. I jumped at the chance! Yay, December 18th won't be here soon enough!

Here's a little bit of info from their website:
" Come and experience the magic of fusing glass onto metal! Gravel & Gold is hosting an evening of enamel shaking and baking 101 with local jewelry designer Raïssa Bump. In her own work, Raïssa takes a no fuss, direct approach to enamel and uses it for bold, rich color.
She will be teaching the very beginning basics of working with enamel. Students will sift opaque colorful enamels onto copper medallions and fire them in a kiln. Stencils can be utilized to layer colors and pattern. Etching paste can be utilized to create a matte finish. Participants will leave with a couple of medallions to keep for themselves or give as great handmade gifts. Medallions are equipped with a hole and jump ring to attach your own chain, leather or ribbon. "

I'm Back and posting on ETSY again!

Hello All!
My trip to LA was just what I needed! Only wish I had another week to spend more time in the thrift stores! Instead, we spent the great majority of our week deep in the dark depths of record stores. And yes, I do mean "record"!... the sorts of stores that sell old vinyl and if you get to chatting with the owner, he may well give you a discount on your purchases! My boyfriend and I came back with some true gems and all at bargain prices!

We did make it to a couple of thrift stores and I will follow this post with a few pics of the things I found there. Since our return, work has kept me busy and a little cold has been keeping me at home. So, instead of wallowing in my aches and pains, I decided to get some pics taken and things posted to my ETSY shop: www.Questionetc.etsy.com I spent the majority of Saturday working on this and I've even already sold one of the newly posted items!
