Cool Fun on a Sunday afternoon in SF!

Sunday, December 19th has a lot to offer the handmade connoisseur! Renegade Craft Fair makes it's second ever Holiday visit to San Francisco this weekend. I'm hoping to stop by to see about finding a few last minute gifts, before heading over to Gravel & Gold ( gravelandgold.com ) in the Mission to take part in the Enamel Wow II workshop, taught by Raissa Bump! I think Sunday afternoon will be a very enjoyable one indeed!

Craft Project for tonight!

I was supposed to spend the day sewing and wrapping Christmas gifts, but instead, I got caught at a new little spot full of wonderful vintage finds and records galore! Well, with this aside, I didn't get around to the sewing, and have yet to get around to gift wrapping...but all was not lost! I did make something! Yay!!! Saw something like this at a neighbor's house and thought it would be a lovely way to decorate a gift box! It's made from a chopstick and looped strips of colorful magazine pages! I bought the chopsticks from Daiso (http://www.daiso-sangyo.co.jp/english/products/) and used an old magazine that I had sitting around the house. I am a collector and hate throwing things away that could be useful in the future and I love when I find a fun way to make good use of these things!

My friends at El Ponk will be vending at the Huff-A-Palooza this Saturday, November 27th. Shop alternative and Indie for your holiday gifts while supporting a great cause! Bo Huff is a legendary fabricator in the classic car world. He's battling cancer and some kind folks have put this event together to help raise money to assist in his medical bills. Cars, Music, Art, Pinups, Vendors & Show! If you're in the LA area for the weekend, take a drive out to Colton and be sure to visit El Ponk!

Last Indie Mart of the year on Sunday!

the last one? yes, this sunday marks the final Outdoor Indie Mart of 2010 before we bar the doors, blackout the windows, and refill the big boy flasks for a winter's long hibernation. but you know how Indie Mart does... our exits go bang! so expect amazing vendors, riff-heavy tunes, and another Indie Mart where we use our outside voices even on the inside. (of course, we might use our inside voice to request a little meet up in the mini-van for a little pre-game petting sesh before the first band goes on...) we've got lots of bands inside with DJ's outside, a hangout area to people watch & enjoy that fading indian summer sun, puppies for adoption from WonderDog Rescue (if no rain), Photobooth from Magnolia, free DIY things to make from Workshop and we're doing a big end afterparty starting at 6pm with some epic bands! think drink specials, tasty Parkside sammys, the best in local designers, handmade, vintage, rebuilt, art, screenprints, letterpress & DIY.

We personally recruited over 30 new to Indie Mart vendors that have never shown at SF shows before. Over 100 vendors bringing you the best makers, designers, vintage, handmade unique goodies, art, baked treats and much more. Tons of interactive vendors offering customization or showing you how it's made. Besides our usual standby's on stiff drinks, cheap beers & fresh BBQ food from thee Parkside...we've also got a giant demo station brought to you by Workshop (www.workshopsf.org) that'll feature demos every hour, on the hour. A DIY terrarium station while supplies last. PBR giveaways. Puppies & kittens for adoption from WonderDog. The Fashionist taking shots of the most stylist peeps for her site (www.fashion.ist). Heavy Metal Aerobics pumping at 2pm for all to join in (SF Weekly & 7x7 Best of SF winner). Photobooth. DJ's outside all day playing rock & roll.
